Carcinogenesis
Details
This textbook is written with the sole aim to understand the mechanisms of carcinogenesis in a simplified way. This book deliberates the overall review by which normal, healthy cells transform into cancer cells. Carcinogenesis appears as a multistage process at molecular level, being triggered either by the action of oncogenes or by the disturbed abnormal activity of protooncogenes. The development of malignancy in an otherwise healthy tissue is the result of a complex series of events beginning with a single cell that has acquired malignant properties through cellular DNA damage. the survival and proliferation of cell with DNA damage, divides and eventually results in a population of clones with similar genetic errors and malignant properties. A note on molecular diagnostic techniques was also added in this textbook.Salient features:Color photographs of hallmarks of cancer are included.Subject matter is presented in a more simplified way.Summary is included at the end of the book for better understanding.
