Cast partial denture

A cast partial denture is a removable dental prosthesis used to replace one or more missing teeth in patients with partially edentulous arches. It consists of a metal framework (usually cobalt-chromium) that provides strength and rigidity, along with acrylic resin that holds artificial teeth. The main components include major and minor connectors, rests, direct and indirect retainers. CPDs help restore aesthetics, mastication, and speech while preserving remaining natural teeth and oral structures. They are durable, biocompatible, and cost-effective compared to fixed prostheses.

We, Ms. Diksha Joshi and Mr. Dheeraj Kumar , 2nd year BDS students of Rajarajeshwari Dental College and Hospital , developed this book on cast partial dentures out of our keen interest in Prosthodontics.
