The Maple Trumpet Skeletonizer Moth (Catastega aceriella) is a moth of the Tortricidae family. It is found from southern Ontario and Nova Scotia to North Carolina and Tennessee.The wingspan is 13-17 mm. Adults are greyish brown. There are possibly more than one generations per year. The larvae feed on Acer species. They skeletonize the leaves of their host, resulting in a trumpet construction. Tortricidae is a family of moths, commonly known as tortrix moths, in the order Lepidoptera. Tortricidae is a large family with over 9,400 species described, and is the sole member of the superfamily Tortricoidea.
