Ferguson (August 19, 1883, Ellsworth, Indiana September 5, 1943) was a professional baseball player. He was a right-handed pitcher over parts of six seasons (1906 1911) with the New York Giants and Boston Doves/Rustlers. During his career, he compiled an 29-46 record in 142 appearances, with an 3.34 earned run average and 298 strikeouts. Ferguson died in Montverde, Florida, aged 60. Major League Baseball (MLB) is the highest level of professional baseball in the United States and Canada, consisting of teams that play in the National League and the American League. The two leagues merged in 2000 into a single MLB organization led by the Commissioner of Baseball after 100 years as separate legal entities.
