Townshend has collaborated with both mainstream and underground artists, including The Stranglers, Hothouse Flowers, New Order, Sleeper, Kaiser Chiefs, Northside, The Cranberries, Snow Patrol, as well as U2 and Echo & the Bunnymen. More recently Townshend has worked with bands such as Zebra & Giraffe, Bloc Party, Editors, Late of the Pier, The Pigeon Detectives, The Sunshine Underground, Scarlette Fever and Reverend & The Makers. Townshend won the 'Mix Engineer Of The Year' award at the 2010 Music Producers Guild Awards. Townshend is currently based at Metropolis Studios, London.
