Cephalometric assessment of individuals with a balanced facial profile

In this book, Dr. Miguel Ferragut Attizzani assesses that a balanced facial profile does not seem to be related to exact average cephalometric values, but to a composition of factors between the tissues that make up the face. The use of pre-established averages should only serve as a reference, since cephalometric assessments do not always correspond to what is visualized on people's faces. The numerical value of skeletal and dental cephalometric measurements should be taken into account, especially if they are representative of individuals' faces. In order to achieve facial balance, the orthodontic diagnosis and treatment plan must also take into account individual characteristics, cultural aspects, facial analysis, study models, the patient's complaint and the possibilities and limitations of the therapies used.
