CERAMIC INLAYS AND ONLAYS

Ceramic inlays and onlays are an aesthetic alternative to conventional metal restorations. The terms biomimetics and bioemulation are often used with such restorations as they replicate the natural tissue arrangement, structure and function, with or without minimal tooth preparation. Thus, bonded inlays and onlays offer the benefit of conservation of tooth structure as well as the mechanical advantages of modern adhesive systems, which can strengthen the compromised tooth. This book covers a wide range of topics such as the indications, new ceramic materials available and tooth preparation for inlays and onlays.
