Challenges facing opposition parties in Zimbabwe to assume power

The work seeks to unravel the problems that have affected opposition political parties in Zimbabwe to rise to the highest office of the land from the time of hard earned freedom to date (1980-2017). Despite looking at a number of opposition political parties much focus has been directed on the Movement for Democratic Change M.D.C-T. To gather the information both qualitative and quantitative methods were employed. Where necessary vernacular language (Shona) was used in order to clearly give the intended meaning and capture the feelings and views of the interviewee. To further elaborate where it befits aid of diagrams and images was integrated. A number of challenges have ascribed in relation to its protracted failures ranging from both external and self-inflicted. A number of challenges have played a significant role among them factionalism, militarization, historical background of the parties, ideological challenges among other factors.
