Challenges in Health Training

The training of health workers remains a critical area in the process of reorienting the health sector. The construction of the SUS highlights long-standing problems and poses new challenges to the process of training personnel, especially when it comes to recent health professions such as speech therapy. The debate on the skills required for training Human Resources in Health (HRH) for the SUS has been a strategic topic in health policy discussions in Brazil for at least thirty years. However, the quality of the debate and intellectual output in this area has not resulted in the institutionalisation of transformative actions in the sector.
