Challenges of Albania and Slovenia Towards European Union Integration

Today, many of the tendencies in the world are conditioned by the global economic, social and political developments of the EU and its member States that over the past fifty years have strengthened their cooperation on integration issues. The present study deals with the Challenges of Albania towards European Union s integration: a comparison with the Slovenian case examines several aspects related to the EU integration process. It deals with the development of the Slovenian process and its repercussions as well as the reforms that the country undertook in order to meet the EU requirements. Moreover, focusing on the Republic of Albania, the work is done in chronological order and compares the present situation in the country with the Slovenian at the time when its nation was exempted from EU membership. The research describes and analysis some possible answers as to when and under which conditions Albania will be able to join the European Union.
