Chancellor of Germany (Federal Republic)

The office of Chancellor of Germany is under the German 1949 constitution, the head of government of Germany. It is historically a continuation of the office of Chancellor that was originally established as the office of Chancellor of the North German Confederation in 1867. The 1949 constitution increased the role of the Chancellor compared to the 1919 Weimar Constitution

Donald Dryden received his Ph.D. in philosophy from Duke University in 2006, where he is currently a Visiting Scholar in the Philosophy Department. His research interests include philosophy of science (biological and psychological sciences) and the life and work of the American philosopher Susanne K. Langer (1895-1985).
