Characterization and Management of Calcareous Soils

For the scientific management of natural soil and water resources, to achieve high use efficiency of applied inputs, a systematic study of soil land slopes characteristics and management of calcareous soils were studied in JAU, Junagadh Gujarat (India). Physical and hydrological characteristics of land slopes, soil classification, evaluation and management of soil sustainability, water resource and climate constraints and soil-site suitability of important crops in different land slopes of calcareous black soils are discussed at length in the text. Shri. Hiren P. Patel, earned his M.Sc.(Agri) Soil Sci. & Agril. Chemistry in 2010 from JAU, Junagadh with first class. He was cleared National Eligibility Test conducted by ICAR-New Delhi during 2010. Presently he is working as Senior Research Fellow in Soil and Water Engineering Dept, CAET, JAU, Junagadh and having two publications in his credit.
