Characterization of Protagonists: Historical Novels of Rose Tremain

This book examines protagonists of historical novels (Restoration, Music and Silence, The Colour) of a contemporary British author Rose Tremain. The protagonists personalities are analyzed from different points of view to conclude the narrative techniques and methods Rose Tremain uses in order to create, develop and present characters to her readers. The analysis should be useful to literature students.

Radmila Vyskocilova has a degree in English and Russian language and literature. She is a co-author of an English textbook Chill Out 2 for secondary school students. She worked as a managing editor of Klett publishing house in Prague, Czech Republic. At present she works as a freelancer for several educational institutions.
