Characterization of transdermal films of an antipsychotic drug

During the past two decades, significant advances have been made in the area of controlled release as evidenced by an increasing number of patents, publications, as well as commercial controlled-release products for the delivery of a variety of bioactive agents. Here, an attempt is made to formulate the matrix type transdermal films of quetiapine fumerate, an anti-psychotic drug using various polymers to sustain its action and evaluate the prepared films using various parameters.
