Salatka (February 26, 1918 March 17, 2003) was the sixth Roman Catholic Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Oklahoma City and the ninth bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Marquette, Michigan. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Salatka was ordained a priest for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Grand Rapids on February 24, 1945. He became the first pastor of St. Michael Catholic Community in the Diocese of Grand Rapids in 1950. In 1959, he was given the title of Monsignor On December 9, 1961, Pope John XXIII appointed him auxiliary bishop of the Grand Rapids Diocese and he was ordained on March 6, 1962.
