Chest imaging of primary immune deficiencies

Primary Immunodeficiency Diseases (PIDs) are a rare pathology comprising a heterogeneous group of diseases due to a qualitative or quantitative congenital abnormality of the immune system.These PIDs can be grouped into three broad categories according to the predominant type of impairment: humoral PIDs, cellular or combined PIDs (severe and complex combined), and PIDs of non-specific immunity (deficiencies of the phagocytosis and complement systems).This book explains these different types of immune deficiency in detail, outlining their main clinical and epidemiological features, as well as the imaging findings of thoracic involvement in these deficiencies.
