Children and Colle: Street realities at Niamey's Grand Marché

In the busy streets of Niamey's main market, dozens of children struggle daily to survive in extremely precarious conditions. This book explores a little-known but poignant aspect of their reality: the consumption of glue, a practice that has become for them a refuge from hunger, cold and the traumas of the street. Through an in-depth analysis of the motivations that drive these young people to adopt this practice and the survival mechanisms they develop, this book sheds light on the root causes of their situation, from family disintegration to structural poverty.Far from being merely a statement of fact, this work also examines the social dynamics and perceptions of the children themselves.
