Chinese MNEs and Host Countries

This paper presents policy implications for host countries to attract Chinese multinational enterprises (MNEs). The needs and advantages of Chinese MNEs are made explicit and the important role of the Chinese government is described. Host country impact is studied by means of general available theoretical information and through three case studies focused on Laos, Vietnam and Hungary. The derived policy implications are focused on project selectivity, education programs and the creation of agglomerations.
