Chori Chori Chupke Chupke is a 2001 Hindi movie directed by the successful pair Abbas-Mustan. It stars Salman Khan, Rani Mukerji and Preity Zinta. Chori Chori Chupke Chupke is possibly the first Bollywood movie to handle the taboo issue of surrogate childbirth. Many of the scenes in the film have been borrowed from Pretty Woman (1990) and the movie is considered a remake of Doosri Dulhan by Lekh Tandon. In 2001, the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) seized prints of Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, after it was discovered the movie was funded by the Mumbai underworld, which has resulted in a well publicised controversy known as The Bharat Shah Case. Raj Malhotra (Salman Khan) and Priya (Rani Mukerji) are members of high society. They meet, get married and soon Priya falls pregnant. Soon after, Priya trips over a flowerpot and becomes infertile. The couple conceal this fact (through the advice of the doctor), and decide to secretly look for a surrogate mother to bear Raj's child.
