CHRISTIAN FORMATION

Christian formation is best described as an interactive process by which God the Father conforms believers into the image of Jesus through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit by overseeing the development of the whole person in various life dimensions for the sake of others. As Redeemer, Jesus the Son provides the impetus and model as the perfect image of God into which followers are to be confirmed. The Holy Spirit provides the divine love and power that causes the process to take place and advance. The apostle Paul refers to this ongoing transformation process: "And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit" (2 Cor 3:18).
