Chronic wound and Propolis

Apitherapy is the medicinal use of the honeybee (Apis mellifera) products: honey, pollen, propolis, royal jelly, bee venom, bee bread, apilarnil, mead and beeswax to promote health and healing. Api-products may be administered as foods or dietary supplements. Apitherapy is used to treat many illnesses and to alleviate pain from injuries both chronic and acute. Apitherapy should not be practiced as a self-treatment without the professional guidance or close supervision of a qualified health professional. Apitherapy treatment should be utilized only when an individual did not respond to conventional therapies, or conventional therapies cannot be practiced as the first treatment option. The problem of conventional medicine in the treatment of chronic non-healing wounds can be solved by using propolis. The aim of my work is to give evidence on the successful treatment of chronic wounds with propolis. Propolis has antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antioxidant and regenerative effect. Propolis is real wealth of nature.
