City policy and public action

It has been much discussed during the last quarter of century to speak sincerely about the failure of public actions focused on the urban. The State and the elected officials of the territorial communities are in front of the crisis, with new social demands, with the rise of precariousness, unemployment and persistent insecurity in disadvantaged areas. It is in this context that the city policy proves to be an alternative to face the various urban ills. It is an action that changes the top-down approach to the bottom-up approach and therefore think local to act global. It is also an action through which the social dimension will be introduced in the treatment of urban issues taking as a base the sociological approach to verify the changes that have affected the social and cultural context of our cities (Weberian approach, Durkheimian, Marxist, and that of the Chicago school) to see how are problematized the social and urban issues of our cities. It is therefore to see through the study of space, the new political action.

Rachid Othmani è nato il 02/07/1970 a Meknes, in Marocco. Ha conseguito un dottorato in diritto pubblico e scienze politiche e un diploma di esperto internazionale in politiche pubbliche. È membro dell'Ordine degli esperti internazionali di Ginevra, in Svizzera, e dell'Associazione francese di scienze politiche.
