This book is the outcome of a particular point of view which may well be called Africana feminism. It brings out the essential features of that 'ism' in the novels of Toni Morrison. The woman who happens to be black and poor is more keenly aware that the battle to own her true self is not an easy one. Eve tasted the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden and is paying for that ever since. But Morrison's black Eves show their strength as well as their will power for this struggle which seems to be an endless one.The work is before the reading public to welcome constructive criticism and suggestion from whatever quarter it may come.
