CLASSIC TO CONTEMPORARY: ENGLISH LITERATURE AND ITS LEGACY
Details
Classic to Contemporary is an illuminating exploration of the literary continuum that connects past and present, East and West, imagination and ideology. Spanning centuries of poetic grace, novelistic depth, and dramatic insight, this book revisits the milestones of English literature while weaving them into a broader global narrative. From the immortal charm of classical and Romantic poetry to the moral vigor of the Victorian novel, from the resonant struggles of postcolonial voices to the daring visions of contemporary theatre, each chapter unveils literature's role as both mirror and maker of human experience.Engaging with transnational poets, South Asian dramatists, and critical thinkers across cultures, Classic to Contemporary invites readers to witness how art transcends boundaries -becoming a universal language of emotion, resistance, and renewal.Scholarly yet poetic, critical yet compassionate, this work celebrates the timeless dialogue between literature and life, where every era leaves behind not silence, but an echo.
