In the light of our present knowledge, the problem of etiology of the malocclusion has been approached with a limited degree of scientific accuracy. So, classification system of malocclusion can be applied for diagnosis to some extent and also a mean of communication which could be both oral and transcript, to give a clue about the type of deformity. Classification is just one diagnostic facet that creates arbitrary categories based on morphologic, spatial and functional variances for the purpose of organizing the thinking of the dentist. Classification systems provide segregation of countless cases of malocclusion into comparatively low number of groups, with each group containing fundamental significant factors. The aim of this book is to provide a fundamental data for the preparation of a systematic and correlated plan of treatment.
