Details

Breast cancer, due to its morbidity and mortality, is a major public health problem in the DRC requiring the development of a national framework for care. The lack of this standard leads to a diversity of treatment protocols in our hospitals. This documentary and descriptive study was carried out from January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2015 in 3 hospitals in the city of Kinshasa. Breast cancer is the second cancer in women with a frequency of 24%. The majority of patients had arrived for consultation in the advanced stages (94%) of the disease. Very few patients have benefited from the recommended breast cancer treatment chain. Hence, the low overall and specific survival rates.
