Cloud-Hadoop and Grid-Globus Data Transmission Performance Analysis

This book presents a beneficial reference to those who are interested in study Cloud Computing and Grid. It introduces a guide for installing and configuring Cloud and Grid infrastructure which used Hadoop framework for Cloud and Globus for Grid. Also it designed to brief a comparison between Cloud and Grid in terms of Data transmission performance. In additional, it proposes a new framework called Grid-over-Hadoop by retaining the features of Hadoop and using GridFTP for data analyze and data transfer for Hadoop, which give the reader a clear view about integrating two environments using an effective middleware.

Mohammed Abdulkarem was born in Yemen. He received the B.Sc. degree with second Class Honors from Sana'a University, Yemen in 2007 and the M.S. degrees from the University Putra Malaysia (UPM), Malaysia in 2015. He is now a Ph.D. candidate at UPM, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Computer and Communication Systems Engineering.
