Co-Compounds vs. Coordinate Compounds

Co-compounds and coordinate compounds are two macro-types of coordinating compounds. In fact we speak of complex concepts of two lexemes that have been combined by the process of word formation. The interesting phenomenon about these two coordinating compounds is the difference in the meaning of the cojoining parts. This book does not only deal with the formation of the two types of coordinating compounds, but also takes a functional and semantic analysis into account.

Born in Meiningen, Thuringia, in 1989 I attended various schools in Hesse from grade 1 to grade 10. My affiliation to the English language increased due to my three-year school career in Johannesburg, South Africa. Having studied English and Mathematics at the Humboldt-University of Berlin I created this work as my bachelor thesis in 2013.
