Rising sea levels on coastal areas could induce adverse direct impacts.Those impacts of sea level rise will induce indirectly various impacts on different live hood activities and natural environment. In order to assess overall coastal vulnerability, it should take into account physical and social vulnerability. This study focused on specific physical and social factors that have influence on the coastal vulnerability in the study area.The study area is located in the North eastern part of the Nile Delta, extending from Gamasa to the west to Ras El Barr to the east and for about 15 km in-land. Damietta Nile branch extends for about 20 km in the eastern part of the study area. The total area covered amount to about 407.56 km2.
