Fluidization properties of fluidised bed containing coal and biomass mixtures, such as pressure drop, friction factor, superficial velocity and Reynolds Number are analysed and comparison of experimental pressure drop with Ergun pressure drop is made. Various biomass particles such as saw dust, bagasse and gram husk mixed with coal in different proportions (coal and biomass in the ratios 1:1, 3:2 and pure biomass) are considered in this study. The study is carried out in an experimental setup that consists of blower, flow regulator, orifice meter, manometer, divergent section and fluidized bed chamber.

Dr.Sundararaj Subramanian has completed PhD from Anna University Chennai, India in the year 2011 and has 11 years of teaching experience. The areas of interest are Computational Fluid Dynamics, Energy Technology, Thermal Engineering, Advanced Green Energy Technology. Currently working as Professor in Mailam Engineering College, Mailam, India.
