Cohesion in Charles Dickens's Hard Times
Details
In this book, Dickens's Hard Times is thoroughly studied in terms of two types of cohesion: non linguistic and linguistic cohesion. As a result, it is demonstrated that the two kinds operate together to build up the novel coherence. Also, it is obtained that the novel non-linguistic cohesion is essentially realized via its linguistic cohesion. Thus, this corroborates the notion of cohesion as a main factor for coherence as the present study model of analysis proposes and this presents an objective view in this regard.
