Colorado Women Politicians

Politicians serve as our public voice. Yet scholars have only studied their campaigns and presidential speeches. This book, therefore, provides one of the first close-up views of politicians as they go about their daily jobs. It looks at how they think and what they believe, how they relate to colleagues and constituents, and the decisions made about legislation they support. The book highlights women since historically they have been under-represented in politics. This analysis should provide a more balanced view of the political environment, a view especially useful to college and university professors in Communication, Political Science, Business Ethics, and Gender Studies, and anyone else who wants to better understand the daily lives of elected officials.

Bonnie M. Orkow studied psychology and social systems at the College of Wooster, Wooster Ohio and Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri. She got her doctorate in human communications at the University of Denver, Denver, Colorado and has taught at the University of Colorado at Denver and the Medical Center in Denver, Colorado
