The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) exists since the early 1960s. In the beginning the CAP had the aim to increase production and to maintain food supply. Over the years it emerged to an important instrument to regulate the agricultural production. As the European Union began to grow and with it the agricultural sector, the CAP had to be adapted via reforms to the changed situations. The book at hand discusses the major Reforms of the CAP since 1992 and its effects on producer prices and competitiveness of EU agricultural products on the world market. The book evaluates if the CAP reforms did have an influence on producer prices and competitiveness, how this influences came about and what their effects are.
