This introductory textbook is representing some of the basic ideas related to identification, morphology and behavior of common birds found in different areas of Jhargram district. Actually different types of these colorful birds are closely associated with us and they play an important role directly or indirectly in connection with the well-beings of human particularly in pollination of different plants. These birds also play a key role in agro-ecosystem and act as a bio-indicator of a particular area. Their body colour and continuous fluctuating movement attract biologists to follow their natural behavior. We have also tried to search and identify different types of birds in the Jhargram district inhabiting in the forest areas as well as in some local swampy areas and also in the water banks. This book emphasizes to aware local people to develop some basic knowledge about them and also to develop some keen interest about their habitat, behavior and biology to some extent so that they can be properly conserve in their natural habitat.
