Communication Protocol Engineering of Wireless Networks

As wireless networks become a predominant telecommunication technology, the need for greater communication protocol performance arises. Performance evaluation of communication software must be conducted in each phase of the protocol development process. This book provides both Specification and Description Language (SDL) modeling and analytic analysis of the most important wireless technologies: Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11), Bluetooth (IEEE 802.15) and WiMAX (IEEE 802.16). Many Medium Access Control (MAC) and Physical (PHY) Layer procedures are modeled, evaluated and optimized.
