Details

Communivation (Innovation in communication Technology) over the last ten years has had an explosion that has brought an instant freedom to the town planning practice to create and solve the built environment disparities. At the same time, the built environment structure is spreading faster with smaller and faster infrastructures such as high speed transport rails, expanded airports, high speed activity roads, and multifunctional telephones. In other words there is a reorganization of the built environment. The world celebrates this explosion of Communivation growth and change especially since it generates wealth and increases competition among 21st century capital economies. In contradiction, the lives of People in the City have become worse. South African built environment structures are more unequal today than they were ten years ago. They also have higher numbers of poor people . Approximately 40% of South Africans are living in poverty with the poorest 15% in a desperate struggle to survive . Three South African cities top the list of the most unequal cities in the world. This book is the first in Communivation Series and begins to unravel this paradox.
