Companies Invested by Pension Funds in Brazil: Governance and Value

The enactment of the New Corporate Law No. 11.638, the creation of the New Market by BM&FBovespa and the Corporate Governance Codes and Manuals by important Brazilian institutions have brought significant progress to the corporate governance practices of Brazilian companies and the stock market. This book presents a study of the relationship between the evolution of corporate governance and the performance and value of companies invested in by pension funds in Brazil between 2005 and 2011, a period in which the BM&FBovespa experienced significant growth in both companies going public and investors investing in shares.
