Comparative Prudence of Construction Project Managers

The scope of project management is so wide that the decisions made by a project manager are very crucial in achieving the objectives of a project from the start as the project manager's principal responsibilities are to deliver the project end-item within budget and time limitations, in accordance with technical specifications and in fulfillment of project objectives. These are depended on the prudence of a project manager in dealing with uncertainties; a major feature of the construction industry. There are court cases where extra rectification, delay and financing cost were claimed and upheld against project managers because they were not prudent. It is in the light of this that this book assesses the prudence of professionals engaged in construction project management services with a view to identifying prudential construction project management practices.
