Comparative Study Of SPWM & SVPWM
Details
This project discusses about inverters that converts power from a DC to AC . Inverters are widely used in motor drives, uninterruptible power supplies (ups), appliances run from an automobile battery ,etc. In this book it is proposed to carry out the study of inverter model with sinusoidal and space vector PWM scheme and to carry out performance measurement of both scheme. The circuit of these techniques has been described and analyzed using simulations software package ORCAD. The performance comparison of both techniques is presented in terms of harmonic and switching losses. Basically, harmonic describes the quality of the output waveform. The losses in the inverter depend on the form of pulsewidth modulation (PWM) that is used to control inverter switching to achieve a variable voltage, variable frequency output. This project is divided into three importance stages of study. Firstly, to study on how to generate the switching SPWM signals and SVPWM signals to drive the power switches using ORCAD 9.1. Secondly, involves the discussion and performance comparison in terms of harmonics and switching losses for SVPWM and SPWM.
