Speech is the primary and most natural means of communication between human beings. With the rapid spread of technology across the globe and increased number of personal and public applications for digital equipment in recent years, the need for human/machine interaction has increased dramatically. The primary motivation is to provide users with a friendly vocal interface with the computer and to allow people with certain physical disabilities to use the computer. The tremendous recent developments in speech and computer technology have produced unrestricted-vocabulary speech synthesis on PCs in English and some other languages. Synthetic speech is audible speech, produced by a machine automatically. A text-to-speech system is one that converts text into speech signal. It would provide incomparable compression ratio and flexible possibilities to choose the type of speech, the fundamental frequency along with its range, the rhythm of speech, and several other effects. If the content of a message needs to be changed, it is much easier to retype the text than to record the signal again. Speech synthesis system would widely require for distance education.
