Comparison of ballasted and ballastless tracks

This master thesis is a product of author's interest in railway superstructures, due to a great professorial influence during her Civil Engineering Master Studies.Prof. Dr.tech. Klaus Riessberger served as a great mentor in the writing of this work and was appreciated greatly. Authors wish was to explain ballasted and ballastless railway systems and make them more understandable to whomever, that has interest in this area, as well as to sum up the advantages and disadvantages of both systems, in hope of it being helpful to her colleagues in the choice of the railway system.

Nina Avramovic was born on November 12th in Osijek,Croatia. She finished Gymnasium in Tuzla with honor.After that the author moved to Graz, Austria where she earned Bachelor and Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic and Environment.This book, as a product of the authors Master Thesis, compares two most common and most used railway systems.
