Compliance of IGAD Member States

This book covers about the transnational crimes specially terrorism which have pose challenges to the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) member states. As IGAD is vulnerable to terrorism due to different factors, its security issues are characterized by threats of terrorism from both the member states and beyond. Thus, countering terrorism in the IGAD requires effective compliance of its member states with the existing counter terrorism measures and unpretentious cooperation among them. Using qualitative approach, this research attempted to explore the compliance of IGAD member states with counter terrorism measures in Africa. The book was aimed to describe the role of IGAD member states in complying with counter terrorism measures; and to identify challenges and opportunities they faced in their endeavor to comply with counter terrorism measures effectively.

Mr. Debela Fituma is a lecturer and researcher at Bule Hora University in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities since 2013. He obtained BA degree in Civics and Ethical Studies from Wollega University in 2012 and MA degree in Peace and Security Studies from Addis Ababa University, Institute for Peace and Security Studies in 2016.
