Composing blues solos using Markovian models

Algorithmic composition has been helping to understand and develop the mathematical field of music theory for over a century. It is a form of musical innovation, facilitating learning and expanding composition techniques. Some computers have been trying to imitate human action over time. A major challenge is to implement creativity in a machine. This work describes how to compose blues solos using Markovian models, simulating creativity in a computer, with the aim of getting as close as possible to human creativity.

Graduated in Computer Science from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (2015). He is pursuing a master's degree in bioinformatics at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. He is interested in the area of computational intelligence, optimization, and meta-heuristics. He works implementing Markovian models to solve bioinformatics problems.
