From the studies made on the quality of coal, the following is concluded: Economic and environmental losses associated with spontaneous combustion of coal in the mine are unlikely, subject to safety instructions; The ash content of coal is relatively high, which reduces their quality. The coal mine works with subsidies from the state.

Anton Sotirov was born in 1968 in Kyustendil, Bulgaria. He has Master's and Doctor's degrees of Geology and Geo-Ecology from the University of Mining and Geology, Sofia, and Post-Doctoral research in the University of Leoben, Austria. He has more than 100 articles and 10 monographs in the area of ecology, geology, environmental monitoring, etc.
