Condition Monitoring

There are current worldwide pressures and the challenges facing industrial organizations is to reduce manufacturing costs in order to compete effectively. Maintenance cost forms an enormous part of the manufacturing cost, and this has led to the continuous search for a cost-effective maintenance practice such as condition-based maintenance. This book therefore provides a stepwise approach for the determination of the need for condition monitoring, the selection of equipment to be monitored, the implementation of a complete condition monitoring system as well as operating the condition monitoring system. It also provides details on how to identify the different faults associated with different machine components, with special reference to Cement and Coal Plants. This book should be useful especially to professionals in the field of maintenance or anyone else who may be interested in fully implementing Condition-based maintenance.
