Engine oil condition includes oil viscosity, oil cleanliness, air bubble content, and oil temperature. Being able to monitor these parameters will not only safeguard engine operation under an oil condition it was designed for, but will also provide a means to assess the health of the entire engine system since any deviation from the nominal state of these parameters could be linked to one or more faulty components.
