Constitutional reform in the DRC: revision or change?

The Democratic Republic of Congo, like all constitutional states, relies on a constitution that organizes power, guarantees rights and defines institutions. Since the adoption of the constitution on February 18, 2006, calls for its reform have multiplied. This reform raises a major debate: should we proceed with a constitutional revision (in accordance with the procedures laid down in the text) or with a constitutional change (creation of a new legal order)? The debate opposes two visions: revision: to correct certain provisions while preserving the spirit of the current constitution; change: to endow the country with a new constitution, which could call into question the legal order.

NGOY ILUMBE PLAMEDI was born in Kinshasa on 07/11/2000. Currently holds a law degree from the University of Kinshasa, and trained in international theology at the Amen ministry. He obtained his baccalaureate in scientific humanities from the Institut du 30 juin, after completing his primary education at the Salem et Dima school complex.
