Constraint Based Communication Network Design Using Genetic Algorithm

This book will be extremely useful for network designers, administrators and the research community to design better networks catering to the tailored demands of users today. It gives a detailed insight on using the very popular Genetic Algorithm - A special technique used for designing networks for any desired traffic demand and connectivity. Genetic algorithm is a part of Evolutionary Programming techniques which are based on the Natural evolution of species. It includes - a proper definition of the initial parent population, reproduction through Cross-over and Mutation and Selection of the next generation/ offspring population. This book not only gives the implementation in High level languages like MATLAB, but it also shows how this can be converted to hardware very easily using a Hardware description language like Verilog, therefore making it easily implementable in hardware. Thus the main application of the algorithm like congestion control for networks can be embedded on all intermediate routers which helps in better Quality of Service in the next generation networks
