Contextual Relationship and Aging in Rural India
Details
From my early childhood in a remote village of West Bengal, India, I saw the problems and crisis in later life of elderly population. They use to only count their last day of the life. But when I studied about the slogan for successful aging towards happy death, I realized that it only speaks about the elderly of well off. There is limited scope of elderly care in our society and we are neglecting our most respectful and valuable human resources to protect them from hunger and so forth. Surprisingly, they are poor elderly who were born and would be died due to their poverty. It inspires me to conduct this study. So, my deepest sense of gratitude is to these elderly population and then, all of them who guided and encouraged to finish it.
