Contraindications in music therapy

Music therapy offers numerous approaches for different areas of application. However, music therapy efforts do not always lead to an improvement in the problems being treated. The semantic field of 'harmful effects of instruments, sounds, music and musical interactions' therefore raises an important question within therapeutic practice. The aim of this study was to create an overall picture of the phenomenon of 'contraindications in music therapy.' To this end, numerous publications from the field were searched for such descriptions, and a questionnaire survey was conducted with music therapists currently working in the field.
